"Some Explicit Polaroids"

"Some Explicit Polaroids" packs in tomorrow, with 3 days of production, preview Thursday and opening Friday this week.

Nick just got out of jail after 15 years locked in and finds his former girlfriend, Helen, buried in a job they both used to despise when they were younger. Tim is sick and spends his time buying new toys on the internet: his latest item is a Russian go-go dancer named Victor. Nadia is a stripper who's abused by her lover and is in constant search of enlightenment. And Jonathan, who works for the government, is very, very pissed off.

It's a fascinating play that comments on love, fear and sexuality. I'm the lighting designer, and lighting/sound operator. Am running the show with my Lightfactory system linked to AVD's Multiplay software, triggering all the cues off a single cuelist.

Shakespeare at Unitec

I'm the sound operator for UNITEC's year 3 Shakespeare production of Titus Andronicus which opens next week. The students have been split into an all-male cast (Titus) and and all-female cast (Romeo and Juliet).

There's some very interesting takes on the story for Titus, lots of music and left-of-field sound effects. And of course there's blood. Looking forward to seeing this one develop.

Vance Fontaine - Reflections

"Vance Fontaine In Command" was a fantastic show. It was a real buzz to work with the band on the fly to deliver whatever musical style the audience demanded. No night was the same, and the way the audience got into the show was great to see.

If Vance ever stages a comeback tour, I'm first in line to be there!

Vance Fontaine - Musical Majesty

Working on a show this week as part of the NZ International Comedy Festival. (http://www.comedyfestival.co.nz/)
"Vance Fontaine In Command" is at The Basement from 15-19 May. An improvised performance, each night will feature different revelations about Fontaine(Greg Ellis). Vance Fontaine is the first Kiwi to make it in Las Vegas with his lounge band.

"Part jazz virtuoso, part troubador, part soul shaman Vance Fontaine has carved out his place in New Zealand musical history as the country’s premier male chanteuse. Alongside his band The Peculiar Sensations Vance has toured the globe tirelessly for over 25 years. Musical fads have come and gone and Vance has sucked the marrow of melody from each of them and thrown them aside. He is as eternal as music itself."

I'm engineering this show for it's Auckland run, and am definitely looking forward to it!
